Handlebar Coffee Roasters is exactly what a local coffee shop should be. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they care about every detail. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and unpretentious, making it a great place to slow down, catch up with a friend, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. The coffee is exceptional. Every sip is smooth, balanced, and expertly crafted. The latte art was a nice touch, but it’s the quality of the espresso that really stands out. You can taste the care and craftsmanship behind every drink. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about coffee. They made us feel welcome without ever making us feel rushed. Santa Barbara has plenty of coffee shops, but Handlebar is one of those places you’ll remember long after you leave. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is a stop that’s absolutely worth making. Highly recommended.

Handlebar Coffee Roasters has such a cool Santa Barbara vibe. You can feel the community energy right away, but they still take the coffee seriously. I love that this started with former professional cyclists who built something so intentional around coffee, roasting, and gathering people together. The almond croissant was absolutely delectable. Buttery, flaky, and filled with a generous amount of almond marzipan paste, exactly how it should be. Not dry, not too sweet, just that perfect rich almond center that makes you keep going back for another bite. The coffee was also beautiful. I loved the medium roast with Straus Barista milk, which gave it such a creamy, velvety texture. The baristas had great energy, and you can tell they know what they’re doing without making the place feel intimidating. Also loved their Slayer espresso machine. Such a serious setup and it fits the whole vibe perfectly. Handlebar is the kind of coffee shop that feels easy, warm, and cool all at once. Great spot for coffee! Had a flat white that was spot on, along with a croissant and tea. Some tables outside. The whole experience felt really good. Definitely recommend this roastery!

Drinks are decent. The place is popular so always packed, no outlets, and the internet was slow during my last visit, so kinda hard for me to stay focused and get work done. Parking is a little bit difficult, especially on weekends.

The best flat white ever!! We sampled lots of coffee shops in Santa Barbara , this was by far the best. The long line attests to it. Their hippie cookie is a perfect pairing and energized us for the next three hours on our road trip. We will be back!
